The real reason for Bill Hader and Ali Wong’s breakup has been revealed.
Following reports that the couple’s busy schedules were ultimately the straw that broke the camel’s back, a source told the Daily Mail that their breakup had been years in the making.
“He had already fallen out with Ali,” a source claimed to the newspaper, adding that the pair had been estranged for several months.
However, the root of their problems seems to have been a conflict in their personalities, as a source pointed out that Wong is “a very sweet girl, very normal, very fun and easy-going girl, whereas[Haider]is not like that.”
“There may be limits to what she can accept,” they said, revealing that Hader can be “difficult” at times, but is also “bubbly” and “intelligent.”
On January 7, it was revealed that Hader and the “Beef” actress had ended their on-again, off-again relationship of three years.
According to People magazine, the now ex-girlfriends are “focusing on work and their children, while continuing to support and cheer each other on.”
“They are very friends and still keep in touch,” the source claimed, calling the pair “very friendly.”
The two were last seen together in late November, when Wong was photographed saying a tearful goodbye to Hader.
It’s no exaggeration to say that the “Barry” actor has been in a tough spot ever since Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was charged with the stabbing.
On December 14, the bodies of the director and his wife were found by their daughter Romy after being stabbed to death in their home.
Later that night, Nick was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
It was later revealed that the couple’s deaths occurred after attending a party at Conan O’Brien’s home. At the time, they were terrified and brought Nick to the party to watch him struggle with a new drug to treat schizophrenia.
However, a source told NBC News that Nick became agitated and stormed off after Hader stopped him during the party for interrupting a private conversation.
It was also reported that Nick and his father got into a loud argument at the party. Many people tried to call 911 for Nick, but O’Brien allegedly stopped them.
Rob and Michelle then quickly left the party with Nick in tow, and Nick allegedly murdered them several hours later.
“This is not a good time for Bill,” a Daily Mail source said.
Nick is currently awaiting arraignment after it was adjourned again to February 23rd. Nick’s former lawyer, Alan Jackson, also resigned on Wednesday, saying he had “no choice” but to retire from practicing law.
The movie scriptwriter is expected to plead not guilty by reason of insanity.
