Gone are the days when “John” and “Sarah” were viable name choices for the children of the rich and famous. Now, A-listers are getting creative. Here we list some of the most unusual celebrity baby names of all time.
Children of Rumble Honey, Slim Easy, Whimsey Roo, Forney Golden, Lucky Blue and Nalasmith
Divisive couple Lucky Blue and Nala Smith continued their theme of giving their children unusual nicknames when they announced the name of their fourth child in October 2025.
“Forney Golden Smith,” the influencer announced on Instagram. “The little golden girl born on my birthday was welcomed into this world by Lucky. Her entrance into this world was graceful, tender, and absolutely magical. Filled with all the love and companionship.”
Mr. and Mrs. Smith are also parents to daughters Rumble Honey and Wimsey Lou, and son Slim Easy.
Saga Blade, daughter of Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly
Machine Gun Kelly shared the surprising name of his daughter with Megan Fox on Instagram on June 17, 2025.
“Saga Blood Fox Baker” ❤️🔥 Thank you @meganfox for the ultimate gift,” the rocker captioned a video clip of himself playing the ukulele while his toddler lounges on a nearby baby bouncer.
The revelation comes more than two months after the couple welcomed their daughter on March 27.
“Finally here!! Our little seed of heaven 🥹💓♈️♓️♊️,” MGK captioned a black and white photo of his hand holding an infant’s finger.
At the time, the caption caused confusion among fans, who thought the toddler’s name was actually Celestial Seed.
The rapper cleared up the misunderstanding via his Instagram Story on March 31st. “Wait… her name is not ‘Celestial Seed’ 🤣,” she wrote over a screenshot of a TikTok user calling her baby “Celestial Seed.”
“Her mother will tell you the name when she’s ready.”
X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl, Techno Mechanicus, Children of Elon Musk and Grimes
Elon Musk and his girlfriend Grimes surprised the world when they announced that their first son, born in May 2020, was named XÆA-12.
The two revealed that there was a hidden meaning behind the jumble of letters and numbers, with Grimes explaining, “X, unknown variable, Æ, my elf spelling of Ai (love and/or artificial intelligence), A-12 = precursor to SR-71 (our favorite aircraft)… A = Archangel, my favorite song… Metal Rat.”
However, the couple was forced to change the boy’s name the following month to X AE A-XII because California birth certificates prohibited special characters and numbers.
But Musk and Grimes weren’t daunted by that, and in December 2021, they secretly adopted their daughter as a surrogate and named her “Exa Dark Ciderel.”
The musician and Tesla mogul, who has a total of 11 children, calls his daughter Y, but they call their eldest son X, so this makes sense.
The billionaire revealed in September 2023 that he and his ex quietly welcomed their third child. The boy is named Techno Mechanicus, but is called “Tau”.
Little is known about the child, including his date of birth.
Bambi, daughter of Molly-Mae Haag and Tommy Fury
Molly-Mae Haig and Tommy Fury, who met on Season 5 of Love Island, welcomed daughter Bambi in January 2023. The influencer posted a photo of her nursery, which features a neon sign of her nickname, and announced her baby’s name, which appears to be inspired by the Disney classic.
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s son Ire Webster
Kylie Jenner revealed in January 2023, nearly a year after announcing the birth, that she and Travis Scott had named their son Ayle.
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star revealed that her baby boy’s name will be pronounced like “Eyre” and not “Aerie.”
Ayre was originally named Wolf, but Jenner revealed in March 2022 that she changed her name because she “didn’t feel like it was really him.”
Malibu Barbie, daughter of Trisha Paytas and Moses Hakmon
Trisha Paytas gave birth to a daughter in September 2022. Her husband, YouTuber Moses Hakmon, named the baby “Malibu Barbie.”
At the time, Paytas exclaimed via Instagram: “She has arrived.”
Zillion Heir Cannon, son of Nick Cannon
Nick Cannon is no stranger to tapping into his creative side when it comes to baby names. The Nickelodeon alum apparently used a play on words in June 2021 when she named her son Zillion Heir Cannon. This rolls off the tongue and sounds like “billionaire.” Cannon and Abby de la Rose gave baby Jilly’s twin brother another “Z” name, Zion Mixolydian.
Cannon’s older children also have unusual names. Powerful Queen Cannon (mother is Brittany Bell), Golden Cannon (mother is also Bell), and twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
Summer Moon Honey Davis, daughter of Shayna Shay and Brock Davis
Scheana Shay and Brock Davids’ baby name is absolutely out of this world and sweet. They welcomed daughter Summer Moon Honey Davis on April 26, 2021.
The Vanderpump Rules star previously said on Bravo that if she had had a daughter with ex-boyfriend Robert Parks Barretta, she would have named her baby girl Madison Marie Parks Barretta.
Wednesday Grint, daughter of Rupert Grint and Georgia Groom
Rupert Glynn and his longtime girlfriend Georgia Groom have given their daughter Wednesday Grint a nickname inspired by the Addams Family. The “Harry Potter” star revealed the baby’s name when he took to Instagram, and his first photo was a selfie with Wednesday.
North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s children
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had fans eagerly awaiting their first child’s name before they announced the name of their first child, and when they welcomed daughter North West in 2013, no one was disappointed. From there, the names got even more creative. The couple welcomed son Saint in 2015, daughter Chicago in 2018, and son Psalm in 2019 via surrogate.
Blue Ivy, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter
In 2012, Beyoncé and Jay-Z went all out to name their first child, a daughter, Blue Ivy. This name was not chosen at random and has significant meaning for the couple. Beyoncé has hinted at what the blue color represents by sharing a poem, with fans speculating that the ivy may represent the Roman numeral IV, or 4, an important number for the couple. The couple gave their twins somewhat unusual names and welcomed son Sir and daughter Rumi in June 2017. The rapper explained that Rumi was named after his favorite poet and Sir was named for the way babies carry themselves.
Inspector Pilot, son of Jason Lee
Jason Lee and Beth Riesgraf gave birth to their first child in September 2003 and named the boy Inspector Pilot. Lee explained that the name was inspired by a song by Riesgraf’s favorite indie rock band, Granddaddy. Although Lee and Riesgraf’s relationship did not last long, their son’s name entered the record books.
Lee also has two children, Casper Sonny and Alberta, with his current wife, Seren Alcak.
Erykah Badu’s children, Seven, Puma and Mars
Erykah Badu’s baby name couldn’t be more random. The singer welcomed son Seven with Andre 3000 in 1997. In 2007, she and DOC named their newborn daughter Puma. Finally, Badu and Jay Electronica welcomed a daughter named Mars to Earth in 2009. See a pattern? Neither do we.
Banjo, son of Rachel Griffiths
For Australian actress Rachel Griffiths and painter Andrew Taylor, there was no book to help them name their baby. Their son Banjo was born in 2003 and was named after the poet Banjo AB Patterson. They also have younger daughters Adelaide and Clementine.
Speck Wildhorse, son of John Mellencamp
John Mellencamp gave one of his children a really wild name. He and Elaine Irwin had a son, Spec Wildhorse, in 1995. Mellencamp has three other daughters, Michelle, Justice and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddy, and another son, Hud. We may not understand the name choices, but we definitely respect them.

It’s no wonder rockers Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale named their baby “The Rock” and named their first son Zuma Nesta Rock in 2008. They also have sons Kingston and Apollo.

Moon Unit, Diva, Dweezil, Ahmet, Frank Zappa’s Children
Frank Zappa was unstoppable. The late artist and his wife Gail ensured that their creativity lives on in the naming of their four children: daughter Moon Unit in 1967, son Dweezil in 1969, son Ahmet in 1974, and daughter Diva in 1979. Frank died of cancer in 1993 and Gail passed away in 2015.
