Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes featurette for Season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is based on the popular Nickelodeon anime. The price will be reduced on June 25th.
After the show premiered in 2024, Netflix renewed the live-action series for two more seasons. Like the original show, it will end with season 3. Seasons 2 and 3 were produced back-to-back, with season 2 ending production in May 2025, and production on the final season beginning shortly thereafter.
The cast includes Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentio as Katara, Ian Owsley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Paul Seung-Hyun Lee as Uncle Iroh, Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula, Momona Tamada as Ty Lee, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai. Season 2 introduces Toph, a blind earthbender played by Miyako. The show features the avatar of airbender Aang, who can control air, water, earth, and fire. After mastering waterbending in season 1, Aang turns to earthbending in season 2 while escaping the evil Fire Nation and Prince Zuko.
Albert Kim, who was in charge of developing the series and served as showrunner for the first season, resigned in April, leaving Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani to lead the show as executive producers. Kim will continue to serve as executive producer. Kim, Boylan, Raisani, Dan Lin and Lindsay Liberatore will serve as executive producers on behalf of Rideback, with Michael Goy also serving as executive producer. Goy directed the first two episodes of the series, and Raisiani directed episodes three and four. Roseanne Lien directed episodes five and six, and Jett Wilkinson directed the final two episodes of season one.
