Drag superstars the Boulet Brothers are preparing to wow this holiday season.
A new anthology of four original short stories, The Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors, will premiere on Shudder on December 16th. Directors include The Boulet Brothers, David Dastmalchian, Akira Cooper, and Kate Siegel.
In “Gaudete” by the Boulet Brothers, a family attempts to settle an inheritance on Christmas Eve at their grandmother’s house, only to discover that the house is haunted and full of secrets. Dustmartian’s “Yeti or Not” is the story of three friends who go into the forest to find their sister in order to find a monster hidden in the snow-covered forest. Cooper’s “Old Acquaintance” transports audiences to New Year’s Eve, where a young woman inherits the demons of her recently deceased father. Finally, Siegel’s “Down the Chimney” puts a morbid spin on Santa Claus.
The cast includes Bonnie Aarons, Aaron Abrams, Brianna Venskus, and Eloisa Huggins from Gaudete, Dastmalchian, Lauren Labella, Jennifer Polania, Leah Kilpatrick, and Natasha Preston from Yeti or Not, Tracy Thoms, Tiffany Smith, Charles Murray, Abola, and Dominique from Old Acquaintance. Hule, Theodora Flanagan, and Cody Flanagan in “Down the Chimney.”
The Boulet brothers serve as executive producers on the project along with Dastmaltian. “This project has been an absolute pleasure to work with our dear friend David and the incredible team of filmmakers involved,” the Bourets said in a statement. “This anthology showcases four different visions of holiday horror, and by creating our own short stories, we have the opportunity to finally reveal the type of storytelling in the creepy, vicious, and hauntingly beautiful scripted genre that is closest to our hearts. We’re excited for audiences to experience the entire collection, especially the dark little nightmares we contributed to it.”
Dastmalchian added, “There’s something inherently haunted and haunted about the holiday season. Dickens knew that. And now, I’ve teamed up with my favorite demons, the Boullet brothers, and a bunch of talented creative creatures to twist the holiday season into something fun and frightening and turn it into horror. ‘It’s a Wonderful Life!’ aside, a new holiday tradition is coming to town!”
