Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, of course, caused a lot of buzz online.
Social media users, including celebrities such as Kacey Musgraves, weighed in on the performance.
The Puerto Rican rapper said ahead of the show that he wanted “people to enjoy” his performance.
Bad Bunny gave a historic performance during tonight’s Super Bowl halftime show…and unsurprisingly, the internet had a lot to say about it. Celebrities and fans shared praise and some good memes on X, Instagram, and TikTok. Here, we’ve compiled some of their best responses.
Prior to the show, Bad Bunny promised fans at his pregame press conference that his performance would be a fun time. “I just want people to have fun,” he said. “It’s going to be a big party. I want to bring a lot of my culture to the stage. I don’t want to spoil anything. It’s easy. People just need to think about dancing. I know I said you have a month to learn Spanish, but you don’t even need that! You better learn to dance. There’s no dance like dance that comes from the heart.”
He also admitted that he had no intention of returning as a solo headliner after guesting with Shakira and Jennifer Lopez during the 2020 halftime show.
“I didn’t say, ‘I want to come back here by myself,'” he recalls. “My team said, ‘We’ll be back again,’ and I thought, ‘Yeah, yeah.’ I’m not looking for this in any way. It might sound like I’m trying to be the most humble and naive, but I swear, I’m never looking for my greatest accomplishment. My greatest joy is just creating. Have fun doing it and connect with people.”
“When I drop a song and I’m talking about how I’m feeling, or when I drop a song and I’m talking about what I did last night, when people connect with me, that’s the best feeling,” he continued. “That’s what I’m always looking for when I’m working in the studio. That’s why I’m always working with friends. For me, the studio is a very intimate space. I never say, ‘Let me work with the hottest producer right now… or let me work with this songwriter.'” All the songs are written by me. I create with friends and very talented people. That’s how I feel and that’s who I am. ”
