The BAFTA Film Awards set E! This year, the other side of the pond will be their home.

Hosted by ‘Traitor’ star Alan Cumming, the awards ceremony celebrates the best of British and international cinema and will be broadcast on E! February 22nd at 8pm ET/PT in the US. BritBox previously held broadcast rights to the British Academy Awards in the US. In the UK, the awards will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer.

Among the 2026 nominated films, Paul Thomas Anderson’s blockbuster “One Battle After Another” has the most nominations with 14, followed by Ryan Coogler’s historical horror “The Sinners” with 13. In addition to these two films, the race for best film also includes “Hamnet,” “Marty Supreme,” and “Sentimental Value.”

This year’s BAFTA Film Awards nominations also include a number of local British fare, including several nominations for indie titles ‘I Swear’, ‘Pillion’ and ‘The Ballad of Wallis Island’. Robert Aramayo, who broke out with “I Swear,” is even in the race for Best Actor alongside Timothée Chalamet (“Marty Supreme”), Leonardo DiCaprio (“One Battle After Another”), Ethan Hawke (“Blue Moon”), Michael B. Jordan (“Sinners”) and Jesse Plemons (“Bugonia”).

In recent years, the BAFTAs have emerged as the bellwether of the Oscars, with two ceremonies scheduled for 2025 to determine the winners of Best Actress (Mikey Maddison for Anora), Best Actor (Adrien Brody for The Brutalist), Best Supporting Actor (Kieran Culkin for A Real Pain) and Best Supporting Actress (Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Perez). Final voting for the Oscars ends on March 5th, but it remains to be seen how much influence this year’s BAFTA winners list will have on the Academy Awards winners list.
