Hong Kong sales company Cappu Films has picked up the Thai girl love series “Love Design” and is introducing the title to buyers at the ongoing Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF).
GL and BL (Boys Love) series, which center on homosexuality, are popular genres across Asia, and Thailand has emerged as a major production hub for this content.
Under the agreement, Cappu Films and VelCurve Studio, the production company behind the sci-fi film Uranus 2324, will jointly handle international sales for Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, North America, Latin America and Singapore.
Helmed by Hughes Kittisak Cheevasachasakul, the series follows two female architects, played by Khao Supasara Thanachart and Jane Metika Jiranorapat, whose romantic relationship turns into professional hostility when one uses the other’s designs in a competition without permission.
The show debuted on October 2 with a weekly Thursday release. Thailand’s Channel 3 is airing an eight-episode version, while Tencent’s WeTV platform is airing an extended cut version of 10 episodes. Fan events for the final two episodes are scheduled for early December 2025.
Keetawat Chinnakote, CEO and Executive Producer of VelCurve Studio, and Janice Woo, Founder and Head of Sales of Cappu Films, negotiated the deal.
“Love Design is a GL series that tells the story of the architecture profession, exploring both the challenges of the job and the romantic relationships of the characters,” Keetawat said. “Starring the talented Kao Supasara and Jane Metika, along with promising newcomers Friend Toofan and Parm Paramy, this series, created by VelCurve Studio, is created with high production standards and a strong commitment to storytelling, making it easy for audiences around the world to understand and relate to its context and emotions.”
He characterized the series as Thailand’s soft power content that will showcase Thailand’s creative capabilities internationally, and said he hopes it will be supported by viewers around the world through the partnership with Kapu Films.
“At Cap Films, we are passionate about bringing unique Asian stories that resonate globally to audiences around the world,” said Wu. “Love Design is a bold, emotionally layered GL series that combines romance, rivalry and ambition in a fresh way. Partnering with VelCurve Studio allows us to leverage the incredible energy of the GL fan community in Asia and beyond while driving diverse storytelling.”
