Taylor Swift accessories speak volume. And her latest ensemble excavates fans the “reputation (Taylor’s version)” theory.
Pop star, 35, has fussed conspiracy theorists with a new promotional video for her upcoming album, “Life of a Showgirl.”
In the teaser that she dropped on Saturday, she paired it with a Persimmon Hued Reformation Short-Sleeve Seater and a Black Leather Versace Mini Skirt ($1,990), a Foundrae “T” early necklace ($1,800) and a Versace Hera Watch (now selling for $748).
The necklace sent fans to Tzzy immediately. The dramatic old English font of the “T” pendant is the same as that of the album cover of Swift’s 2017 album “Reputation”.
“Are I crazy or is this the same symbol on the person in charge’s album cover?” he commented on the video.
For the majority of the last five years, Swifties have speculated when the singer would release a re-record of its fateful album. However, this announced in May that she had regained ownership of the Master – leaving the question open about whether she had released “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” at all.
She said she completed a re-recording of her debut album, but she admitted that the music was “very specific” in her life and “continued to score stop points” so she “not even re-recorded a quarter of her reputation.”
Both albums she wrote are “Subscribe again when The Time is correct” and “The Location of From a Celebration.”
All of this is even more interested in the continued arrival of symbols of the era of “reputation”. Beyond the font on the necklace, “T” reflects the lyrics from one of the tracks on the album.
Another “T” in question is, of course, Swift’s new fiance, Travis Kelce.
But wait – there’s more. Swift’s Versace accessories in the new clip are loaded equally with potential meanings.
Both her watch and skirt feature the brand’s signature Medusa logo, a symbol of serpentine that is difficult to ignore. After all, the snake was a mascot from the “reputation” era, from tour visuals to social media rollouts.
However, watches also have several meanings of “showgirl.” It is called Hera, named after the Greek Goddess of Marriage and the 12 Olympian Queens, and the release on October 3 marks her 12th studio album. A coincidence? I don’t think Swifties are considered.
Fans also pointed out that Tiktok Swift, posted last week, features an updated version of her song “Gorgeous,” featuring lush guitars to replace the punchy synth of 2017. The track originally from “reputation” has a more mature sound that could indicate that she is working on a vault track.
The producer connection adds another layer to the theory. Swedish hit-making duo Max Martin and Shellback, who are behind “The Life of a Showgirl,” also produced several tracks, including “Latuption.” And “delicate.” Their reunion for Swift’s latest project makes me wonder if fans are quietly working on the “reputation” vault track along with the new album.
It remains unclear whether Swift is really dropping the hint or simply enjoying the speculation. However, given the history of rewarding the work of fans’ detectives, it may be too early to completely dismiss the theory.
