Taylor Swift’s special role in the 2026 Winter Olympics has been revealed.
Ahead of the women’s figure skating competition at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, the singer lent her voice to introduce Team USA’s “Blade Angels.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce you to Amber (Glenn), Alyssa (Liu), and Ysabeau (Levito), three American showgirls on the ice whose stories will capture your heart,” Swift said in a voiceover about her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, in an X video posted Monday.
The “Lover” songstress, 36, went on to detail the “many battles” Glenn, 26, fought to qualify for the Olympics, noting that “the battles she lost are just as meaningful as the battles she won.”
“Her superpower is now embracing the fight and giving the world the audacity to test her beliefs,” Swift explained, as footage of Glenn falling and quickly getting back up at a previous competition was shown.
Next up was Alyssa, who Swift explained took a break from figure skating when she was 16 years old, but “came back…of her own free will” four years later.
“Joy is now her driving force, and every jump is a celebration. Every performance is a testament to the beauty of knowing yourself,” she concluded, moving on to Levit.
According to Swift, Levitt is “fate incarnate,” explaining that his mother grew up in Milan and that “Nonna lives just 13 minutes from the Olympic rink.”
“If you can skate like you should, history reveals itself in interesting ways,” she added of the 16-year-old.
“They are teammates and friends. They call themselves the Blade Angels.”
Swift’s current single “Opalite” played in the background of the ad.
The Grammy Award-winning singer has been keeping up with the Olympics, recently celebrating another Olympian’s big milestone: getting engaged.
On February 12, Olympic skier Breezy Johnson posted on social media that her now-fiancé, Connor Watkins, got down on one knee as they arrived at the finish line of the women’s super-G race in Italy.
Watkins quoted Swift’s song “The Alchemy” and printed on the inside of the ring box, “Honestly, who are we to fight alchemy?”
Without missing a beat, Swift commented on the post with more lyrics from the song, writing, “‘Where’s the trophy? He’s running up to me now’ Congratulations!!!”
Aside from the engagement, Johnson also won gold in the women’s downhill on February 8th.
Like any athlete, Swift is preparing to walk down the aisle with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in the summer.
The Blade Angels will compete in the women’s short program event on Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. ET. They will compete in the free skate event Thursday at 1 p.m. ET.
