She has good girl beliefs and wears tight little Miu Miu skirts. In fact, there are five of those skirts.
For the past two years, Taylor Swift has been spotted wearing pleated tartan miniskirts to the Italian fashion house for dinner dates and everyday outings around the world.
On Tuesday night, the newly engaged pop superstar, 35, was photographed dining at Eighty Six in New York City’s West Village wearing a camel and black plaid version with gold buttons and front patch pockets ($2,350), paired with a black turtleneck and knee-high Jennifer Chamandi boots ($1,550).
This is a clothing formula we’ve seen before, and we’ve seen it so many times in fact that we can call it a reliable foundation for her fall wardrobe.
The “Actually Romantic” singer owns a variety of plaid minis (some from more affordable labels like Rails and Lamy Brook), but Miu Miu’s four-figure style seems to be her favorite.
At the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards in March, she virtually accepted the Tour of the Century award wearing the same camel mini, black long-sleeve top and Cartier watch. The outfit sparked speculation about “Reputation (Taylor’s version)” thanks to the snake necklace. But, as we now know, she had other plans (namely her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl).
Last December, Swift visited Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, wearing a green plaid pleated miniskirt ($2,350) and a matching button-up shirt. The coordinating set was such a hit with a teenage patient named Naya (who called the outfit “tea”) that Swift later gifted her the entire $4,500 ensemble as a Christmas surprise.
“People asked me where I got it, but I kept it a secret because I had a plan,” Swift wrote in a handwritten note accompanying the gift. “We’ve picked out a few that you can consider tea.”
The “Wildest Dreams” chart-topper also owns older (and now sold-out) Miu Miu styles in several colorways. She wore a belted light brown version to the tour opener dinner with Sabrina Carpenter in Sydney, Australia in February 2024, pairing it with a black corset top from House of CB.
The skirt first appeared in late 2023, when the singer was photographed several times wearing two other subtly different plaid patterns.
For one outing, she paired a checked skirt with a shearling gantt coat and red Reformation boots. For another, she opted for above-the-knee heels by Stella McCartney and a jacket by The Row.
It’s safe to say that when the singer finds her favorite silhouette, she’s all for it. And the Italian label has clearly earned a permanent place in her closet.
