Taylor Swift will not be participating in the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards this weekend.
Page 6 confirmed that the “Cruel Summer” singer will be no-show at this year’s ceremony, which will be held at UBS Arena in New York on Sunday.
The 35-year-old Swift will face Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen and The Weeknd.
The pop star was particularly attended last year’s ceremony, bringing home the trophy of the Seven Months for her 2024 album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
She gave a sweet cry to her current fiancee, Travis Querce, accepting this year’s Video of the Year award and Malone’s “two weeks” collaboration.
“I’d always heard someone cheering on from across the studio where we were filming (‘Weekend’ music video),’ she recalled. “And one of them was my boyfriend, Travis.”
She then said, “Everything that this guy touches turns into happiness, fun and magic. And I always remember that, so I want to thank you for adding it to our shoot.”

Swift has received 12 nominations including Song of the Year, Bideo of the Year, Best Direction, Best Collaboration, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Art Direction and Song of the Summer.
It is unclear why Swift won’t be attending this year’s event, but it’s refreshing from her engagement to Kelce, which she asked last month. The NFL star is currently in Brazil on Friday for the Kansas City Chiefs game vs. the Los Angeles Chargers.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are married,” they captioned several photos from their fairy tale suggestions in an Instagram post shared on August 26th.
On page 6, we confirmed that the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs fell on one knee after filming an episode of the “New Heights” podcast with Swift.
The couple began dating in the summer of 2023.
