Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman allegedly witnessed Ryan Reynolds berate Justin Baldoni for “fat-shaming” Blake Lively, according to newly released court documents in Lively and Baldoni’s ongoing legal battle.
According to documents obtained by People, Baldoni visited Lively and Reynolds at their New York City apartment on April 25, 2023. Once there, the Canadian actor allegedly told Baldoni to “unload his bag” and that it was “terrible” to ask about a woman’s weight.
Reynolds, 49, and Lively, 38, accused the Jane the Virgin alum of “fat shaming,” while Baldoni, 41, was “completely embarrassed” and tearfully apologized.
Swift, 35, and Jackman, 57, were in the apartment at the time of the incident, documents said.
The allegations are based on a timeline of events emailed to Baldoni’s publicist from Wayfarer Studios co-founder Jamie Heath’s team in July 2024, People reports.
Representatives for Swift and Jackman did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
TMZ previously reported that Swift went to Lively’s apartment at a time instructed by Lively, without knowing anyone was there, including Baldoni.
Sources said Swift believed Lively manipulated the timing of her meeting with Baldoni so she could arrive before Swift departed, and Lively said nothing to Baldoni other than that she was excited to see “It Ends With Us.”
Baldoni claimed that Lively weaponized her friendship with Swift in a dismissed $400 million countersuit against her co-stars and Reynolds. They also claimed that text messages were made public in which Lively referred to Reynolds and Swift as “dragons.”
“The message could not be clearer,” the complaint says. “Baldoni wasn’t just dealing with Lively; he was also dealing with Lively’s ‘dragons,’ two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world, who were unafraid to make things very difficult for him.”
Mr. Baldoni claimed in his complaint that a “close, well-known” friend was also present when he was invited to Mr. Lively and Reynolds’ New York penthouse.
A source told Page Six last month that Swift and Lively remain estranged from each other amid the ongoing legal battle between the Gossip Girl alum and the director and co-star of The Endless Couple.
“They haven’t been in touch,” a source said of Swift and Lively, adding that the once-close pair haven’t spoken since last year, when the drama surrounding the affair began to unfold.
Sources also said in February that Swift felt “used” by Lively.
“Taylor really wishes Blake had never been involved in this situation,” the source claimed. “[They]have been friends for years, and Taylor values true friendship, but she can’t help but feel used at this point.”
