Taylor Swift spoke to her music critics after releasing her new “The Life of a Showgirl” album in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.
“I welcome the confusion,” Swift said with a smile. “The rule of show business is that it’s the first week of my album release and if you say either my name or my album title, you’ll help.”
The Grammy Award winner added that she has “a lot of respect” for “subjective opinions on the arts.”
“I’m not an arts police,” she said. “It seems like everyone is allowed to feel exactly how they want and that our goal as entertainers is to be a mirror.”
Swift, 35, pointed out that some listeners may not initially connect to her songs as they did not reflect where they were in their lives at the time.

“An album is a really, really wild way of seeing yourself, isn’t it?” she said.
“What you’re experiencing in your life will affect whether you have anything to do with the music I’m always putting out,” the singer further explained.
Although Swift’s 12th studio album (contains some lyrics, centering on his relationship with Fiancé Travis Kelce, breaking streaming and sales records, Swifties has expressed love and support for many of his songs via social media.
However, stubborn fans and professional review critics have been harshly criticizing the new music.
Despite all the discourse, Swift is proud of her new album and stands behind it.
“When I’m making my music, I look to heritage,” the singer of “The Fate of Ophelia.” “I know what I made, I know I adore it.”
