Swifties flooded the AMC Theaters app on Friday, and purchased tickets for “Taylor Swift: The Phylection Party of a Showgirl.”
The AMC app displays a constant two-minute estimate wait time after 12:12pm for ET ticket releases, and says, “Experience the patient volume. We have actively created this queue for all visitors. For movies currently playing, please visit our nearby AMC Theater or check again later.”
In a statement, an AMC spokesman said, “Swift’s power remains unparalleled! However, both our website and mobile app are stable and we continue to sell tickets online in large quantities.”
Variety has exclusively reported that Taylor Swift will return to the big screen, coinciding with the October 3rd to May 3rd release of Taylor Swift from October 3rd to May 3rd release.
All 540 AMC Theatre locations will participate and continue their partnership with Swift’s AMC Theaters Distribution to handle her theatrical release. The event will also expand to thousands of non-AMC theatres in North America, including Cinemark and Regal Locations. Screenings will start simultaneously in the time zone at 3pm on October 3rd (ET/noon).
“Although it is usually prohibited during traditional showtime, AMC guests are welcome to sing and dance during the “Taylor Swift | Showgirl Official Release Party,” reads the AMC press release. “To ensure everyone on the show has fun, guests may not stand in their seats or block corridors or stairs.”

These include Canada, Mexico, the UK, France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Showtime tickets in these countries will be on sale on Tuesdays in Japan.
Other countries not on that list will get the film on the October weekend weekend, announced on or around October 3rd.
