Taylor Swift uncovered rumors about her speech at Selena Gomez’s wedding on tonight’s show starring Jimmy Fallon.
Hours after Selena Gomez shared Taylor Swift’s first photo at her Instagram wedding, Swift uncovered viral rumours about her reception speech on tonight’s show. Host Jimmy Fallon asked Swift if a longtime friend really joked that she had beaten her to the altar, as one tabloid reported.
Swift discussed what actually happened after saying she didn’t. She even felt tempted to hide her diamond engagement ring from her old mine, stressing that she would not raise her own engagement.
“Well, I’ve come to see her as the most elegant and gorgeous, not just the bride, but also the vision I’ve ever seen,” she began. “I’ve never seen anything as beautiful as her on her wedding day, and she deserves all this happiness. Benny is him. He is him. He is so funny. He is the best.
“Hey, I know this is your wedding day, but I’m (engaged)!” “You know, I didn’t mention it. Maybe turn it (the ring), do you know what I mean? This is her day. Life, but I didn’t make it about me.”
This was not the first time I’d talked about the ceremony. When she appeared in SiriusXM’s Morning Mashup earlier this week, she discussed how much it would make sense to see Gomez marry Benny Blanco.
“Serena was the most beautiful thing, not the most beautiful bride… (but) the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” she said. “I’m so happy, and she deserves it. And you just want it to people, do you know?”
She reflected on how quickly things have changed for them after posting a photo with Gomez from the July 4th celebration of 2023. Swift revealed in her caption that they were both singles.
“How confusing is that post?” she began. “I think I’ll look back at it (and) if I break it, if I break it, I’ll be in this picture. I’m with me and Serena, as well as many girls. Some of the other girls found someone right after that. (Kelse, my future fiance) I just came to the show.
With the caption of a photo from her wedding with Swift, Gomez celebrated the lifespan of their friendship.
“In honor of the showgirl… I’m blessed to take you by my side almost 20 years later! I love you forever and always,” she wrote.
