Oh, that guy!
Taylor Momsen dug out Cindy Lou Who’s costume from How the Grinch Stole Christmas when she was a child and managed to recreate it 25 years later.
On Monday, the 32-year-old Pretty Reckless frontwoman posted a video on Instagram of herself trying on an original dress from the 2000 holiday film for a celebratory photo shoot.
In the clip, Momsen models a ruffled dress with a plate of Christmas cookies adorning a red and green plaid skirt in a promotional shoot for the re-recording of “Where Are You Christmas?”
“Yes… this is the real Cindy’s outfit from the Grinch movie 🥰 25 years later… it still (somehow) suits me 🤣 What a surreal holiday season,” she captioned the post, tagging stylist Lindsey Hartman and other members of her team.
The rocker, who was just six years old when she filmed the Christmas classic alongside Jim Carrey, looked delighted to be back in the Whoville wardrobe.
But while the Grinch’s heart may have grown three sizes, Momsen’s costume certainly didn’t.
In the clip, Hartman helps the singer pull the child-sized dress up over her arms and head, but Momsen admits the sleeves may not be able to go past her biceps.
“You’re too jacked,” someone off-camera joked.
Momsen spoke about his ripped physique to Page Six on the 2025 VMA red carpet in September, praising his boxing obsession with consistency and chiseled muscles. “I exercise a lot,” she told us. “I try to do something every day.”
Ultimately, Momsen shrugged it off the shoulder for an off-the-shoulder look, then restyled it into a strapless dress for the shoot, topped with Cindy’s red-and-white fur-trimmed cape.
The “Heaven Knows” singer spent years on the fence about the role that made her famous, but this holiday season she’s embracing “The Grinch.” In October, she released a rock’n’roll version of the song her younger self performed in the film as part of her Pretty Reckless holiday EP.
In November, he reunited with Carey (63) for the first time since filming the movie. The two met at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where Momsen performed with Soundgarden and Carey introduced the band.
Her relationship with cinema was not always cheerful and cheerful. In 2023, Momsen revealed on the Pod Crushed podcast with Penn Badgley that she had been bullied relentlessly after the film’s release.
“First of all, ‘The Grinch’ changed my life in many ways, one of which was that I was relentlessly teased,” the former “Gossip Girl” co-star said.
“Every time I start a new school or go somewhere else, I don’t think the kids even know my name,” she recalled. “I was just a ‘Grinch Girl.'”
It took some time, but she has come full circle and is now enjoying the nostalgic holiday feeling it brings.
