Taylor Frankie Paul’s ex-girlfriend Dakota Mortensen has finally spoken out after recent domestic violence allegations were exposed.
“[Mortensen’s]first priority here is to protect[his son]Ever,” his rep said in a statement obtained by Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday.
“He knew it could come out, but he didn’t actively plan on doing so because he always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor. It was really hard to achieve that, but he wants to successfully co-parent.”
“He just wanted this issue to go away without saying anything as usual,” the statement continued, noting that he has “never given any sit-down interviews on his side.”
“I think he just kind of let everything happen to him and now, in all its seriousness, he realizes he can’t do it,” the statement concludes.
Page Six has reached out to Paul’s representative for comment.
On Monday, it was revealed that filming on Mormon Wives had been halted pending an investigation into domestic violence allegations involving Paul, 31, and Mortensen, 33.
“They’re not filming,” the source said. “There’s something pretty serious going on with Taylor’s past, so they’ll see what happens. Until that’s resolved, they’ll take a break.”
A spokesperson for the Draper City, Utah, Police Department told People that “contact with the parties involved occurred on the 24th and 25th (of February)” in the case, noting that the charges were “a two-way street.”
The two dated on and off, but then broke off again. They dated from 2022 to 2024 and had a 1-year-old son, Ever.
Paul broke her silence on the drama on Tuesday, saying she was “heartbroken” to see the headlines about the alleged affair, especially since Sunday’s premiere of her season of The Bachelorette is just days away.
“It’s just difficult timing and it’s a big deal,” she told People during a press preview for season 22 of the ABC dating show. “Every premiere I’ve been to, I feel like I’ve never fully enjoyed it. So this is another premiere…It’s been a lot of work and it took everything to get here today.”
There was speculation that the season of The Bachelorette would be canceled due to her off-camera drama, but Variety reported that the investigation into the incident “will have no impact” on the show’s release schedule or coverage plans.
But her future on “SLOMW” remains uncertain after Paul dodged a question about it during an appearance on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday.
Paul and Mortensen also had a domestic violence incident in 2023, which fans witnessed during Season 1 of SLOMW.
Paul then threw a chair at Mortensen, which instead hit her 8-year-old daughter Indi. She was arrested and charged at the time with domestic violence in the presence of a child, misdemeanor assault, and criminal mischief.
However, the reality star, who shares Indy and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul, revealed during a 2025 appearance on Call Her Daddy that “all charges have been dropped” in the case.
In the same interview, Taylor claimed that she and Mortensen had broken up “for good,” but on last week’s SLOMW Season 4 finale, it was revealed that they started filming The Bachelorette together the night before Taylor departed.
