Taylor Frankie Paul dodged questions about her “future” on “Mormon Wives” after domestic violence allegations surfaced with ex Dakota Mortensen.
“It’s hard to get through this. I’m not going to lie, this moment is so heavy,” she told Lala Spencer on Wednesday’s episode of “Good Morning America.”
“When your life is covered in these headlines, it feels like the end of the world. That’s what it feels like. I’m not going to lie. I’ve been here before and I’ll say I’ve overcome it and shared my story and my light. I hope I can do it again.”
The 31-year-old reality star went on to say that the alleged domestic violence incident, which surfaced just days before the upcoming premiere of “The Bachelorette” season, is really difficult.
“It’s going to be a really exciting time,” she continued. “I’ve always been a truth-teller and that’s what I’m known for and I’ll do that when the time is right. But right now I’m just trying to focus on the present moment.”
“It’s been a back and forth process of being here in the moment and worrying about the house and the headlines because the kids come first,” Paul explained. “To be honest, it was stressful.”
Meanwhile, People confirmed on Monday that filming on “Mormon Wives” has been paused as Paul is under investigation.
“There are some pretty serious things going on with Taylor (Frankie Paul)’s past and they’re going to see what happens. Until that’s resolved, they’re walking away,” a source told the outlet, with the Draper Police Department confirming that “the allegations went both ways.”
Paul and Mortensen, 33, dated on and off from 2022 to 2024 and share son Ever, 1.
They briefly broke up in 2023 after Paul allegedly threw a chair at Mortensen, which hit his daughter.
Paul, who shares eight-year-old daughter Indy and five-year-old son Ocean with her ex-husband, was arrested at the time and charged with misdemeanor assault, criminal mischief and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
All charges were dropped and the two settled the same year. Hulu personalities have announced that it will end permanently in 2024.
However, during the Season 4 finale of SLOMW, it was revealed that Mortensen and Paul had been dating the night before he left to film The Bachelorette.
Despite her current situation, the mother of three’s season of “The Bachelorette” is expected to premiere as scheduled.
Variety reported on Monday that the investigation into the incident “will have no impact” on the show’s release schedule or coverage plans.
On Wednesday’s Live with Kelly and Mark, Paul opened up about his time on the dating show and explained how he managed to talk to his kids despite the no-phone rule.
“I didn’t have my cell phone with me (on set). Everyone was in a bubble except for parenting and the kids,” she recalled of filming. “It was really nice of you to come see me whenever you wanted. But since I was going to school, there were times when I thought it would be better to stay home.”
She also reflected on how her past relationships influenced her experience on the series.
“I was in a relationship with someone who was very passive and laid-back, and then I was going to extremes of excess, so I wanted to find that middle ground because I think that’s what suits me best,” she told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “A balance of passive but also ‘do your thing, my girl’ and fun and interesting.”
As for her current position, Paul said she is “seeing better days.”
“It’s very heavy,” she repeated. “There’s a lot going on. I can just say it’s been tough.”
