Taylor Frankie Paul was touched by a message of support from rumored Bachelorette winner Doug Mason following the show’s cancellation.
Mason, who was rumored to be engaged to Paul at the end of the show, said on her Instagram Stories on Friday: “I’m just saying my prayers to Taylor in light of everything that’s happened. Because it was her moment and her moment was thwarted.”
“All we can do right now is hope. I hope you all have a great day as we’re about to go for a run and watch the sunrise. Let’s stay positive and just show support for those in need.”
“Oh my heart goes out to him ❤️🩹. So sweet,” Paul, 31, wrote in the comments section of the Instagram video.
Celebrity gossip blogger Reality Steve claimed that Paul and Mason’s engagement was called off when he visited Paul in Utah a month after Mason gave him his final rose.
However, the pair were also spotted together in Los Angeles last Saturday, according to photos obtained by The Sun on Thursday.
The pair appear to have been filming additional footage for the dating series before it airs on ABC ahead of its scheduled Sunday release.
Season 22 has been officially canceled after a leaked video on Thursday showed the “Mormon Wives” star throwing a chair at ex Dakota Mortensen during a domestic dispute.
The reality star was arrested at the time, but the charges were later dropped as part of a plea deal.
“In light of the new video that was just released today, we have made the decision not to move forward with a new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time. We are focused on supporting our families,” a rep for the network told Page Six on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Paul also released a statement to Page Six through his agent.
“Taylor is extremely grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes the safety and security of her family,” the statement said.
“After enduring years of extensive emotional and physical abuse and threats of retribution in silence, Taylor has finally found the strength to confront her accusers and is taking steps to ensure she and her children are protected from further harm.”
“Too many women suffer in silence while surviving ex-partners who are aggressive, jealous, and refuse to move on with their lives,” the statement continued.
“Taylor remains silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is now exploring all options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
Mason wasn’t the only Season 22 contestant to speak out during the drama. Clayton Johnson took to Instagram Stories Thursday to slam his competitors.
“I can honestly say this was one of the best groups of guys I’ve ever been around,” he wrote. “There’s so much integrity, respect and heart across the board. Even in the difficult moments, that never went away.”
She added: “Any woman would be lucky to be with a man like this. True honesty, real respect, real men. I love you.”
Fellow suitor Richard Van de Water gave a subtle nod to the cancellation, slyly promoting Ella Langley’s new country song “That’s As All I Got Say.”
Meanwhile, Paul’s “Mormon Wives” co-star Demi Engeman appeared to slam the former “Bachelorette” star.
“The bills are paid. My husband is fine. Our marriage is strong. Our children are happy and healthy. I feel very wealthy,” she wrote in a since-deleted post. “My version of peace that no one can ever destroy, no matter how hard they try. Truly, the best revenge is to live well. I’m going to die on that hill forever.”
