Sydney Sweeney knows how to take the red carpet to date night.
The actress spoke to Us Weekly about the inspiration behind her Syrn lingerie brand and the one staple she’s adapted for fans to wear to the bedroom or to dinner.
“I couldn’t find a top that made me feel hot without being too over the top,” she says, adding that the brand’s black corset ($269) is her go-to for date night. “But this is perfect. You can tie it as tight as you want, so you can make it bounce as much as you want!”
What about inspiration? “I was inspired by this corset that the designer made for me,” the “Euphoria” actress explains. “I wanted to incorporate this into commercial work because I had never seen anyone make commercial corsets of the type that I would wear on the carpet.”
The American Eagle ambassador said, “I don’t like to overdress, so I created this. I’m more of a jeans person.”
The 28-year-old is no stranger to corsets. In fact, this is one of the silhouettes she wears most often on the red carpet.
The Marilyn Monroe-inspired dress she wore in December featured a fully corseted waist, and her sparkling gown was also on display at the premiere of The Housemaid in New York a few weeks ago.
Who can forget Britney Spears’ nipped-in waist look for her birthday this fall, when she opted for a vintage velvet corset dress for the GQ Men of the Year party in November?
In fact, she even wears an optical illusion version of a corset that only reveals bones covering her waistline.
Sweeney also talked about the birth of her brand, explaining that her 32DD breasts as a sixth-grader were her driving force. “I never felt confident,” she said.
“Euphoria” helped me come out of my shell, so to speak. She credits her experience on the show with making her realize that “confidence is actually powerful. Our bodies are amazing,” adding, “We should embrace[them]and feel really good in our own skin.”
With four different capsule collections to choose from, Syrn offers something for everyone. “That’s kind of why I wanted to build all these different worlds,” she said. “So[fans]could honestly choose how they wanted to start and end their day.”
