NBC is canceling the next episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” starring Timothy Busfield as a guest star.
Variety has confirmed that the broadcast network has canceled the episode, which was scheduled to air on January 15th. Instead, NBC will air the “SVU” episode originally scheduled to air on January 22nd. Busfield was scheduled to play a judge in a now-canceled “SVU” episode titled “Corrosive.” He guest starred on the long-running series in 2011 and directed two other episodes in 2019.
Recently, it was reported that an arrest warrant had been issued for Bassfield in New Mexico on charges of sexual abuse of a minor. The accusations stem from his time as director of the Fox drama series “The Cleaning Lady.” One of the twin boys who worked on the show claims that Busfield groped her “private parts” on set when she was seven and again when she was eight.
Warner Bros. Television, which produced “Cleaning Women,” was conducting an internal investigation into Bassfield’s actions with the boys in 2025 after receiving an anonymous tip about a separate incident. The studio previously released the following statement regarding the accusations:
“The health and safety of our cast and crew is always our top priority, especially the safety of minors who appear in our productions. We take all allegations of misconduct very seriously and have systems in place to promptly and thoroughly investigate and take appropriate action as appropriate. We are aware of the current charges against Mr. Busfield and have and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement.”
