According to the report, Valerie Perine’s cause of death was acute cardiopulmonary arrest due to Parkinson’s disease.

Also known as sudden cardiac arrest, the condition was confirmed in her death certificate obtained by People magazine.

Dementia also contributed to the “Superman” actress’ death, according to the Los Angeles Department of Health, People reported.

Perine, who passed away on March 23 at the age of 82, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2015.

“It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of Valerie’s passing,” her longtime friend Stacey Souther shared on social media at the time.

“She faced Parkinson’s disease with incredible courage and compassion and never complained. She was a true inspiration who lived life to the fullest. And what a life it was.”

Souther added, “The world doesn’t feel so beautiful without her. I love you, Valerie. I’ll see you on the other side.”

Perine is known for her roles in the Academy Award-nominated 1974 Lenny Bruce biopic and 1978’s Superman, in which she played Lex Luthor’s girlfriend.

After playing the same role in 1980’s Superman II, she moved on to star opposite Harvey Korman in TV’s Leo and Liz in Beverly Hills.

She then had two episodes of “ER” and three episodes of “Nash Bridges,” eight episodes of “As the World Turns,” and roles in dozens of parts, including 2000’s “What Women Want.”

Her breakout role came in George Roy Hill’s 1972 adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five.
