What you need to know
Amanda Batula and Kyle Cook are opening up about how their relationship has evolved since announcing their split after more than four years of marriage.
On Tuesday, January 27, the former couple, along with their Summer House co-stars, were interviewed by Kiki Monique and Dorinda Medley on SiriusXM’s Front Row series. Monique first talked about the news about her former couple, asking how they were doing and if they had anything to share about the situation.
Batula, 34, immediately replied, “Yes, I’m fine.” She then saw Cook, 43,’s reaction and jokingly added: “That’s it. What’s next?”
Cook, who appeared to be still wearing his wedding ring, replied, “Every step we take, it feels like a little bit of a weight has been lifted. Ironically, last week seemed to be pushing ‘post’, so I think I feel a little bit lighter.”

“It’s become easier to get along with each other,” Batula explained.
“But we’re fine. We talk all the time. We’re both traveling. So I’m watching the dogs (Reese and Ryder), he’s watching the dogs, too. We’re parenting the dogs together,” she said. “You can still call him if you have any questions.”
Mr Cook added how Mr Batula called him for help when the fire alarm went off. “Look, more than anything I want her to be happy. I want us both to be happy.”
Monique also added that she should ask Vanderpump Rules alums Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney for advice on co-parenting a dog. The Bravo stars filed for divorce in 2022, but decided to share “joint custody” of their dogs, Butter and Gordo.
“I don’t know who to ask for advice,” Cook joked. “We’re creating our own blueprint.”

Cook and Batula announced their breakup in a statement shared to their Instagram Stories on January 19th.
“After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably made the decision to separate as husband and wife,” they wrote. “It is with heavy hearts that we share this and we kindly ask for your blessings and support as we focus on personal growth and healing.”
“We have always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, so it feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we move into our next chapter,” the statement concluded, signed by “Amanda and Kyle.”
The two met in the summer of 2015, ahead of the premiere of Season 1 of Summer House. The two officially announced their relationship the following summer, and their relationship-defining conversation was aired on the Summer House finale in March 2017.
The couple got engaged in September 2018 and held an outdoor ceremony at Batula’s parents’ home in New Jersey in September 2021. They were originally scheduled to get married in September 2020, but the ceremony had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
