Stephen Curry is open about his relationship with his wife, Ayesha Curry.
The Golden State Warriors star (37) reflected in the tough decisions he faced at Davidson College while discussing exclusively about his new memoir Shot Lady.
“We just started dating, or about a year or something changed, and I was deciding whether we were going to go to the draft.
At the time, Curry said he felt it had torn. “It was strange because I left college early and didn’t see four years. “And I loved the experience and playing for manager McKillop at school and Davidson.”

In the middle of that uncertainty, Curry relies on Aisha, whom he first met at a church in North Carolina when he was a teenager. “She told me to stay in school because of the end of my degree and how important the whole transaction is,” he says.
Curry eventually left Davidson after his junior year and entered the 2009 NBA Draft, being selected by the Golden State Warriors.
He has since spent 16 seasons with the team, winning championships in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. Now he’s preparing for his 17th season, so Curry says he will look back at the conversation as a defining moment in their relationship.

“The conversation and the feelings I shared just established the fact that no matter what I do, she will become my biggest supporter,” he explains. “And as you know, the idea that we have gone through so many years of experiences can go back to that supportive foundation and lean against each other through that conversation.
“So, for me, it’s not only a core memory personally, but a core memory for our relationship too,” he adds.
Of course, the couple is now happily married to four children: daughters Riley (13) and 10-year-old Ryan and 16-month-old sons Canon and Caius.

When she appeared on the Call Her Daddy Podcast in August, Ayesha touched on the same moment and shared that she doesn’t necessarily give Stephen the best advice.
“I was like ‘staying at school’,” Ayesha told podcast host Alex Cooper, adding how Stephen wasn’t expecting him to pursue a professional basketball career.
“I didn’t grow up surrounded by people who went to college,” she continued. “To me, it was like, ‘Amazing, what a blessing.’ Just like you go to college, you are educated, and you come from the background of that sport and don’t realize how unusual he is. “
