Stephen Colbert tears ABC to pull Kimmel: “Black Censorship”

Stephen Colbert came to the defense of late night host Jimmy Kimmel using his monologue to blow up ABC executives to stop “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in “The Late Show” on CBS on Thursday. After Brendan Kerr, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, took action against the network.

“Now that Carr issued a statement about ABC, Kimmel will air. The decision was made after senior executives of ABC, Disney and affiliates held an emergency meeting, but several executives felt Kimmel hadn’t actually said anything, but the threat of retaliation from the Trump administration was looming.” “As one source at ABC said, they were pissed all day. On the bright side, Disney has proven to be number one in streaming.”

Colbert continues, “Ker reassured that he was posting right away. “This may be an unprecedented decision, but it’s important that the station push back Disney programming that it has determined is not reaching the value of the community.” Well, you know what the value of my community is, Buster. ”

For each CNBC on the scene of the taping at the Ed Sullivan Theatre, Colbert called Kimmel’s decision “blatant censorship” and added, “A dictator cannot give an inch.”

“Jimmy, I’m 100% standing with you and your staff,” Colbert said.

“The Late Show” also aired a music segment, and it was a parody of “Be Guest” from “Be Beeguer and the Beast.” There, Lumiere sings Disney employees “Closing Your Trap” and “New Rules on ABC Don’t Tell Donny T.”

ABC has drawn out all future episodes of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” From the “indefinitely” schedule on Wednesday. The announcement comes after Nexstar Media, the US’s largest television station owner conglomerate, cited the host’s comments on the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, saying it would “preempt Kimmel’s shows from its owned and partner television stations.”

Shortly after the news broke, Donald Trump took to the Truth Society to celebrate ABC’s historic decision. He writes: “American great news: The challenged Jimmy Kimmelshaw has been cancelled. Congratulations to ABC for having the courage to do what he has to do in the end.” On Thursday, Trump tracks rhetoric by threatening other broadcasters, warning that if he airs criticism of his administration, he could lose his license.

Kimmel’s troubles began after an episode on Monday night, during which Kimmel said the “Magagang” was doing everything he could to “characterize this child who murdered Charlie Kirk as something other than them.” This commentary was interpreted as Kimmel, who is said to be falsely described as Kimmel, who falsely states that Kirk’s suspicious shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, is a Trump supporter.

The monologue urged a response from FCC Chairman Kerr. In an unorthodox move from the sitting FCC chairman, Kerr appeared on the podcast of conservative personality Benny Johnson, who said, “These companies can, frankly, find ways to change their behavior and take action in Kimmel. Nexstar Media denied pulling “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” That decision has been made in connection with the station’s comments from the station or in connection with the pending acquisition of Tegna, a station owner, which requires FCC approval.
