Stefan Katzmann has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Munich-based production and distribution group Beta Film. He is scheduled to join the company in April.
Katzmann currently serves as Chief Financial Officer for Licensing and Sales at Leonine Group.
He will succeed Maria Kaltenegger, who will return to financial audit firm KPMG after six years on Beta Film’s management board.
During his time as chief financial officer at Beta, where he was responsible for finance and administration, human resources and IT, Kaltenegger “made a significant contribution to the further development of the group and its strategic direction during a period of growth and significant change,” according to a statement.
Jan Mojto, CEO of Beta Film, said: “We would like to sincerely thank Maria Kaltenegger for her excellent and reliable cooperation over the years, and for providing us with her excellent expertise and valuable input within the company. She has played an important role in strengthening Beta’s position as one of the world’s leading sales and production groups in Germany. We are very sorry to see her leave our company and wish her all the best.”
For the past six years, Mr. Katzmann has been Chief Financial Officer for Licensing and Distribution at Leonin Group, where he was also involved in the integration of the former Tele München Group and Universum Film. Previously, he was Managing Director of Finance at Sport 1 and Constantin Film Group, where he was Managing Director of Finance for Constantin Film Distribution and Constantin Film Production.
Beta Film Managing Director Moritz von Krudener said: “Stefan Katzmann will be able to draw on his extensive experience in the field of distribution and production finance. These are excellent prerequisites for the successful further development of the Group in a production and distribution market characterized by consolidation, competition and pressures for innovation. We are very much looking forward to working together.”
Mr. Katzman said, “It’s great to be part of the Beta Group and I’m excited to work with my new colleagues. It’s a great privilege and responsibility to take on new tasks and goals, and I’m very happy and excited to see them through.”
