“Star Wars” voice actress Ashley Eckstein and her husband, former MLB player David Eckstein, are planning to release a complementary book in September.
Ashley, known for voicing Ahsoka Tano throughout the Star Wars series, has written a romantic novel, The Lucky 22, inspired by the couple’s love story. Ashley’s debut romance novel, co-written with New York Times bestselling author Samantha Chase, reminisces about their childhood through the characters Ella Rose Holt and Christian Lucas.
David’s memoir, Just Enough, was published to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his 2006 World Series MVP title with the St. Louis Cardinals. The book was written with fellow former professional baseball player and author Jake Gronski. With a foreword by actor Sean Astin, David’s book “explores the faith, heart, and perseverance that defined his career, including personal milestones away from the field,” according to a press release.
“I’m a proud wife and David’s story is one of the greatest underdog stories ever told,” Ashley said Thursday morning. “‘Just Enough’ is more than just a baseball memoir, it’s an everyday human story that will inspire any reader. When it came to ‘The Lucky 22,’ people always said how we fell in love was like a Hallmark movie. It was fun to share our story from a different perspective. You could say our book is ‘his and hers.'”
Both books are published by Blue Box Press.
