never say never!
Sonya Morgan is optimistic that fan-favorite “Real Housewives of New York City” alum Dorinda Medley will appear on “Golden Life.”
When Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real asked about Medley’s absence from the upcoming E! show, Morgan claimed that on the show, “It’s not over until a fat woman sings.”
While the socialite said she “wouldn’t rule out Dorinda” in terms of appearing, the TV personality, who chatted with us while promoting her partnership with BetUS, had some thoughts on why Medley wasn’t cast in the upcoming series.
According to Morgan, E! was looking for a cast who were “really friends” and “loyal to each other.”
“As sisters, we sometimes argue about things on a daily basis,” she elaborated.
“They want a satirical comedy that makes people feel good…It’s not a mean comment because my husband’s family is the founders of the big banking industry,” Morgan said, referring to her late ex-husband John Adams Morgan, a prominent financier and heir to the JPMorgan banking fortune.
She also cited some memorable comments Medley made to her while appearing on RHONY as reasons why the Traitor star was not a good fit for the cast.
“I don’t need people to take money out of the bank just because I have the Holland Tunnel or because I’m hanging out in Saint-Tropez. That’s not true.”
Real questioned whether the pair were close after Morgan, 61, was noticeably overshadowed in the medley, but Real insisted they were “always fine”.
“I’m just talking about what they’re looking for and that’s not the end of it,” she clarified. “I don’t consider Dorinda out. I don’t consider[Jules Weinstein]out. I don’t consider[Aviva Drescher]out.”
A representative for Medley could not be reached for comment to Page Six.
“I wouldn’t even consider excluding[Bethenny Frankel],” she declared, even though a source told Page Six that Frankel “has finished her chapter on reality TV.”
“There’s no one I wouldn’t want to do a movie with,” she said.
Morgan, 62, is most excited about filming with longtime friend Ramona Singer, who feels “misunderstood, quoted and taken out of context” on RHONY.
“I’ve known her for a long time, so I want people to watch her movie and see her sweeter side again. She’s a caregiver and a very good friend. She’ll take the shirt off her back.”
Page Six first reported that several OG members of RHONY have signed deals with E!
The final cast includes Luann de Lesseps, Morgan, Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon, and Singer.
According to sources, the new program is scheduled to be broadcast by the end of 2026.
Meanwhile, “RHONY” went off the air last year for the first time in 15 years as Bravo sought to revamp the series with a new cast.
