According to sources, it seems like the friends in Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ orbit will still have some time to fully develop their relationship.
After the pair announced their engagement this week, it is said that not everyone believes third time is the charm, as both have been married twice in the past.
A source told Page Six that Robach’s friends don’t think walking down the aisle is the best idea.
“I don’t know many people who like TJ. She still has her best friends and everyone who really cares about her wants her to be happy,” the source said.
But the conversations behind closed doors are “not exciting,” she added of her circle.
This is not the first time friends have raised alarms about the couple’s relationship. In 2023, Robach’s friends were worried that she had quit her lucrative television job because of the relationship.
A source said at the time that Robach was “depicting how happy the two were in love.”
Another source said at the time that they were “best friends” who loved each other. The two men at the center of the biggest scandal in ABC News history appear to be having the last laugh at their naysayers.
“We’ve only been engaged for about a month,” Robach said on the Amy & TJ podcast on Oct. 14.
“I’m actually surprised that we’re even talking about this right now. We wanted to let you all know before others could,” Holmes said.
“We have learned lessons about our relationship in the past and would like to talk about that upfront,” he added.
Holmes went on to explain how Robach would “dangle the ring in everyone’s face every now and then, and no one would say anything,” in front of “crowds of tens of thousands of people.”
Robach admitted that he once wore the ring proudly to a football game in hopes of attracting attention.
“That never happened…I think a lot of people who are close to us and love us and know us understand what we’ve been through and don’t want to pry,” she said.
It was revealed that the two were dating, which infamously caused a stir on ABC News.
ABC News chiefs fired them from the network, and network insiders said their absence was felt by former colleagues and executives.
Representatives for the couple had no comment.
