Christian Pulisic has slammed Sidney Sweeney’s dating rumors.
The soccer star, 27, set the record straight on social media following online rumors that he was in a relationship with the Euphoria actress, 28, after splitting from ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino in March.
On December 28, Pulisic, captain of the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT), posted on his Instagram Stories, “Please stop making up stories about my personal life.It can affect people’s lives, so we need to hold sources accountable.”
“Fake news guys, stop the nonsense rumors,” Pulisic commented under another Instagram post claiming he was dating actress Any But You.
How did the rumors start? On December 25, Italian gossip column Gazzetta reported that the unconfirmed rumor started on Instagram’s “Bomber’s DNA” page and then gained attention online.
However, Pulisic has reportedly been dating fellow athlete Alexa Melton since 2024. Meanwhile, Sweeney has been dating Scooter Braun since early September.
“Scooter and Sydney are doing well and their relationship is great,” a source told PEOPLE in early December. “They are in a committed relationship and the situation is serious.”

Sweeney and Brown have been spotted together numerous times throughout the fall and holiday season, and in November they were photographed sharing a sweet kiss while sitting on a rock in New York City’s Central Park.
After Sweeney and Brown were spotted holding hands on a night out in Los Angeles on September 30, another source told PEOPLE that the two “have a lot in common and neither of them cares what other people think.”
Sweeney’s friends and family are “really happy with the relationship,” the source added, “so relieved to see her really happy.”
The source also said that Brown’s friends are equally excited to see him spending time with Sweeney following his divorce from Yael Cohen in 2022. Brown has three children, son Jagger, 10, Levi, 8, and daughter Hart, 6.
“They say it’s been a while since they’ve seen him this settled in a relationship, and you can tell how much he admires her,” the source said. “He thinks she’s smart, kind and fun, and she appreciates how he sees her for who she is beyond all the noise.”
