Carolina Rodriguez has found a new home on Team Snoop.
As the battle continued on The Voice on Monday, October 20, Team Nile contestants Rodriguez and Kirbi performed Lauren Daigle’s “You Say” in hopes of staying in the competition. Unfortunately, the former One Direction singer could only choose one.
After each performance, each coach provided detailed feedback.
Coach Reba McEntire said, “Great job to all the ladies. You were like angels.” “Carolina, you have an amazing voice…Kavi, there’s a completely different sound to your voice, sweet and pure and completely believable.”
Coach Michael Bublé, meanwhile, praised Horan’s song selection, saying he liked how Horan gave the singers “opportunities to sing difficult songs.”

“Karbi, you did a four-chair turn. There’s no doubt that you’re an amazing talent,” the Canadian singer continued. “You have a beautiful stage presence. Karolina, I don’t know why I didn’t change direction. Was I stupid? Yes.”
Coach Snoop Dogg praised Kirbi, calling her “strong, beautiful, charming” and exhibiting “great showmanship.”
“Carolina Rodriguez. Girl, I turned the chair around for you, and you chose Niall. And I understand why you chose him, because he gave you a great record that highlighted his abilities,” the 53-year-old rapper continued. “So I’m not mad about that, but I know he can’t choose both of you.”
Snoop finished by teasing, “I’ve got something called a steal in my back pocket.”
Before making the final decision, Horan, 32, told the contestants that their performance was “beautiful” and “emotional.”
“Kirby, that high register rasp is beautiful like no other. Like Snoop said, you’re like a veteran controlling the stage and controlling the sound that comes out of your instrument,” he said.
The “This Town” singer continued, “Carolina, it was so impressive to see you start singing that song in a tense room and sing it in that low register.”
And Horan declared Kirby the winner of the fight by a “close margin.”
“This is where I wish I could have made two saves. It was really tough,” he said. “Karbi gave me the level of emotion that I really wanted for this song. She’s one of the better storytellers in the competition, and that’s what it turned out to be.”

After host Carson Daly announced that Rodriguez could steal, Snoop pressed the button and Horan immediately walked over and hugged the rapper.
“The Holy Spirit of the gang spoke to me,” Horan said. “I’m so happy that Snoop got the only steal for my Carolina Rodriguez. I didn’t want her to leave this tournament.”
Snoop added, “What I love most about Carolina is how much she’s grown from when I heard her sing on Blind to now. Her sound was 20 times different. It took a few tries, but the perfect artist found her way back to Team Snoop. Welcome home, Carolina.”
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm ET on NBC. All episodes will be available to stream on Peacock the next day.
