Snoop Dogg is ready to enter the house.
As previously reported, the rapper has teamed up with Eli Roth for the upcoming horror film Don’t Go in That House, Bitch! as a producer on the film and its soundtrack.
Then I got word from Ross that Snoop Dogg would be starring in a movie.
“He’s wanted to do a death row movie for a long time,” Ross told me Thursday night at the Bvlgari Eternal Vimini party at the luxury jewelry store’s Rodeo Drive headquarters. “I said we needed to make the ultimate haunted house movie, something like the craziest movie, a mix of ‘House,’ ‘Graveyard House,’ ‘House,’ and ‘Friday the 13th,’ something that no insane person would believe existed. And we called it ‘Don’t Go Into That House, Bitch!’ And he’s still in it, and he’s going to be in it.”
Roth, who released a fake trailer for the film in August, said he finished the script while on vacation. No other cast members have participated yet.
“People keep coming into the house. People don’t listen. What are you doing, bitch? Don’t go in that house,” Ross said. “People just keep going in. Like, what are you doing? You’re not coming out of there. Please stop. Turn around and leave! That’s basically all you scream at the screen during a horror movie. We put them in the movie as characters in the movie, like a Greek chorus.”
Filming is scheduled to begin in June.
“We’re in the process of budgeting right now,” Ross said. “I’m going to apply for a California tax credit. Once I get the tax credit, I’d like to shoot in Los Angeles, so all the people of Los Angeles can participate.”
Snoop also provided music for Ross’ next film, Ice Cream Man. “He sent me the score, and it wasn’t hip-hop, it was an actual score. I thought, ‘Oh my God, this is unbelievable.’ … So that meant an entire section of the movie was completely scored by Snoop.”
He also wrote the song “Ice Cream Man”, which Ross hopes to use in the end credits.
Ross and Snoop collaborated on the rapper’s 2012 “La La La” music video, which Ross directed.
Meanwhile, Ross also provided an update on the long-awaited sequel to the 2023 hit film Thanksgiving. Production was postponed because star Addison Rae is on a concert tour and co-star Milo Manheim has just signed on to headline the live-action version of Rapunzel. “Everyone wants to do it. I’m going to lock it up and load it up and find a time for everyone to participate,” Ross said. “I’m just going to go back and enjoy it for a few weeks.”
