SNL UK’s Weekend Update returned for the show’s second week with a line about mixed messages from the US and Iran about a deal to end the war, the death of an OnlyFans owner and more.
Paddy Young started the show with a scathing note about how Trump and Iran are giving very different messages about the possibility of a deal to end the current conflict.
“With President Trump pushing hard for a deal with Iran, the Iranian military spokesperson said, ‘Our first and last words from day one have been, are and always will be: People like us will never come to terms with people like you. Now and never will,'” Young said, adding, “Oh my God, kiss me already!”
Later in this segment, the death of OnlyFans owner Leonid Radvinsky was covered. “So guys, when you visit this site this week, please lower your penis to half-mast,” Young joked. “By the way, it was a wonderful funeral. There were no dry tissues in the house.”
Then, young co-anchor Ania Mariano debuted a new show titled “Hand in Hand,” delivering good news amidst all the bad situations. “And now it seems like the whole world is at war: Russia and Ukraine, the Middle East, Chapel Lawn and that little girl,” Mariano said. “War. We can joke about it, but first I want to make sure. Are you okay?”
“This is a collaboration between Anya and Pad,” Young said. “We’re here to tell you it’s okay,” Mariano added after Young finished speaking. “Because we have each other.”
“World War III. Sounds scary, right? But World War II has already happened,” Mariano continued. “And they say there are three good things, right?”
Mr. Mariano picked up the topic and pointed out, “If London gets bombed, house prices will fall.”
“And so are house numbers,” she added. “We’ll all be living across the two remaining houses, just like on Friends!”
