“Sinners” star Wunmi Mosaku revealed on the 2026 Golden Globe Awards red carpet that she is pregnant with her second child.
Speaking to Variety’s Angelique Jackson at the Golden Globes pre-show presented by Amazon Fire TV, she said she was happy to finally reveal the news, wearing a dazzling yellow dress.
“I’m relieved. I’m not going to lie,” Mosaku said, adding, “It’s really, really hard to hide your pregnancy. But just being able to really be present in the moment and accepting myself for who I am right now is such a relief. It’s amazing.”
“Sinners” has been nominated for seven awards, including Best Director for Ryan Coogler and Best Picture, Drama.
Last year, Mosaku spoke to Variety about playing Annie in the movie. “When I read the first scene of ‘Annie and Smoke,’ I was completely struck by the depth and breadth of humanity portrayed in Ryan’s writing,” she said. “He is very good with words. He loves humanity, women, lovers, and family. He painted two people that I loved so much in seven pages, and everything that I cared about so much in seven pages.”
Mr. Mosaku also talked about the themes of the film, especially love of community and family. “I’m a mom, so I have to be at home with my family from 9 to 5. We had weeks to rehearse and in between takes we found time to get to know each other. We shared things about each other and talked about our hopes, dreams, fears, love and everything else,” she said. “But everything was locked up in and around the set because we had to go home.”
At last week’s Critics’ Choice Awards, “Sinners” was recognized for its original screenplay, casting and music. The film’s 20-year-old star, Myles Caton, was named Best Young Actor.
“Sinners” received five SAG Actor Award nominations, tying for the second-most nominations in SAG history. The film received individual nominations for Mosaku (Best Supporting Actress), Michael B. Jordan (Best Actor), and Cayton (Best Supporting Actor), as well as recognition for the cast ensemble.
