D4dv is reportedly a suspect in the death of Celeste Rivas.
Law enforcement officials told TMZ and NBC4 Investigates on Tuesday that investigators are investigating D4vd as a suspect.
However, an LAPD spokesperson told Page Six on Tuesday that they “cannot confirm” reports that D4vd is a suspect in the incident, saying there appears to be no documentation officially classifying D4vd as such.
A Los Angeles Police Department official with “direct knowledge” reportedly told NBC4 Investigations that D4vd was uncooperative, that Rivas’ death likely occurred in the spring, and that the musician “was likely assisting in the dissection and disposal of the body.”
According to TMZ, authorities are treating Rivas’ death as a homicide. The cause of death has not yet been determined by the medical examiner. Toxicology results are pending.
TMZ’s sources claimed that during the police investigation, it was revealed that the singer traveled to a “remote area” in Santa Barbara County late at night this spring and stayed there for “several hours.”
The newspaper said it was “unclear” why the Los Angeles Police Department would investigate such a trip, and noted that it was not “double-sourced” on the alleged information.
Page Six has reached out to D4vd for comment.
Rivas was reported missing on April 5, 2024, in Lake Elsinore, California.
Her decomposed body was discovered in Los Angeles on September 8th after an employee at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Tow reported a strong odor coming from a Tesla registered to D4vd.
Officers found Rivas’ body inside a bag in the front trunk of the car. A law enforcement official told NBC News at the time that the body was “not intact.”
The vehicle had been impounded after being reported abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, but neighbors said it had been parked there for more than a month when it was finally seized.
The singer was in Minneapolis when her body was discovered, but her tour has since been canceled.
