Milo Productions Inc. and Fathom Entertainment will release the animated feature “Time Hoppers: The Silk Road” in theaters on February 7th and February 8th.
“Our partnership with Fathom marks a significant milestone for Muslim storytellers,” Milo Productions CEO Michael Milo said in a statement. “This film is the realization of a decade-old dream to give our community the opportunity to see themselves and our shared history on the big screen.”
“Time Hoppers: Silk Road” is Milo Productions’ first feature film and the first Muslim-animated production to be released nationally in theaters. The film, which is based on an RPG game, is scheduled to premiere on streaming service Muslim Kids TV in 2026.
The film celebrates the legacy of Islamic culture during the “Golden Age of Islam” and features Muslim pioneers such as the “father of algebra” al-Khwarizmi, the “pioneer of optics” Ibn al-Haytham, the astronomer Maryam al-Astrorabbi, and Mansa Musa, the patron of science, education, and the arts.
In addition, the voices of prominent Muslim American scholars and community members are featured in the film, including Omar Suleiman, Dalia Mogahed, and Omar Regan (“Rush Hour 2,” “Five Thirteen”).
Commenting on the partnership, Fathom Entertainment CEO Ray Nutt said, “Fathom Entertainment is extremely proud to partner with Milo Productions to make history by bringing Time Hoppers: The Silk Road, an authentic, family-friendly, Muslim-American themed animated film by a Muslim-American content creator, to U.S. theaters.”
“With a growing population of approximately 4.5 million Americans by some estimates, Muslim Americans are an important and underrepresented part of our nation’s melting pot of cultures and faiths,” he added.
“Time Hoppers: Silk Road” will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage that provides a glimpse into the process of putting the project together.
Tickets for “Time Hoppers: The Silk Road” will go on sale January 9th from Fathom Entertainment and participating theater box offices.
