The trailer for Marta Bergman’s drama L’enfant bélier (Silent Run) has been released for the first time ahead of its world premiere in international competition at the Cairo Film Festival.
The film centers on Sarah and Adam, who illegally entered Belgium with their two-year-old daughter and are now trying to reach the UK. Packed into the back of a van with other immigrants, fear begins to overtake hope. Redouin, a police officer for 20 years, spends his nights chasing smugglers on Belgium’s busy highway system. Everything changed that night when his team tried to stop a van believed to be transporting migrants.
Shot in French and Arabic, the film’s cast includes Salim Kekioush, Zubeida Belhajamoul, Klara Toros, Abda Razak Alsweha, and more.
The authors are Bergman, Camille Mol, Elie Schwillot, and Sasha Felbas.
Producers are Cassandre Warnaut and Jean-Yves Roubin of Fracas Productions and Geneviève Lavoie and Richard Angers of Production des Années Lumières.
Overseas sales will be handled by B-Rated Intl. Previous international distribution companies include Cineclub Internazionale (Italy), Destiny (France), O’Brother (Benelux) and Axia (Canada).
