Sidney Sweeney shared a message of support for military personnel overseas after revealing his brother is deployed.
The “Euphoria” star posted a photo on his Instagram Story on Tuesday of his brother, Trent, wearing camouflage gear and a helmet.
“I’m always happy when I get a call from my brother and he’s deployed,” Sidney captioned the photo, presumably taken from a video call between the two.
She continued, “Thinking and sending love to all the boys and girls overseas! Thank you for all you do :).”
Trent, 25, is a member of the United States Air Force. He previously shared on Instagram that he was promoted to staff sergeant in August 2025.
Trent also poked fun at the controversy of his sister’s American Eagle jeans ad campaign at the time, sharing on his Instagram Story that he officially recognized his promotion, joking, “That’s good jeans 🥸.”
It is unclear whether Trent’s deployment is connected to the current Iran war.
Sidney, who has been a registered Republican since June 2024, has made headlines for her political views in the past — particularly after an American Eagle ad campaign last summer was criticized by some as “Nazi propaganda” that glorified her blonde hair and blue eyes.
The 28-year-old actress responded to people giving her the nickname “MAGA Barbie” in an interview with Cosmopolitan published in January.
“I’ve never come here to talk politics,” she said. “I’ve always been here to make art, so this isn’t a conversation I want to be at the forefront of.”
Mr Sweeney insisted he was not a “hateful” person and said there was “no chance” when it came to addressing political issues about himself.
“I have to continue to be who I am, because I know who I am,” she said. “I can’t make everyone love me. I know what I stand for.”
The Silun founder said she is “not a political person.”
“I’m involved in the arts. I’m not here to talk about politics,” she stressed. “It’s a field I never even imagined going into. That’s not why I became who I am.”
