Sidney Sweeney has insisted she doesn’t “actually need a man” after not being seen with Scooter Braun for two months.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan on Thursday about what she looks for in a man, she declared, “Look, I’m the boss of my life. I take control. I go after what I want. I’m confident, I’m successful, and I don’t really need a man.”
The “Euphoria” star, 28, continued, “I have myself. I have an incredible group of girlfriends. I have a team of badass women. That’s very intimidating for a lot of guys, so a guy needs to be able to stand in that with me.”
She went on to recall that in order to talk about a man she “really, really liked,” she “needed a very specific person who could handle the world that came with her,” but ended the conversation because, in his own words, the man “couldn’t handle[her]world.”
“It’s difficult,” she said before candidly revealing a conversation she had with her mother.
“My mom and I were talking about men the other day, and I thought, ‘Well, he’s not really my type.'”
That’s when her mother, Lisa, told her: “Maybe your type isn’t for you, Sid.”
The “White Lotus” actress reflected, “Maybe I need to be open to other experiences and not try to cram everything I think I need into this box.”
She’s open to new types of men, but there are some things she can’t compromise on.
Sweeney told the magazine that she is looking for someone who is “athletic, outgoing and funny.”
“I’m a sports-loving girl, so I need someone with whom I can climb mountains and go skydiving,” she explained, noting that she also wants someone who “loves family.”
During a conversation with the outlet, Sweeney made rare comments about her past relationship with ex Jonathan Davino.
“I was in a relationship for a very long time, seven and a half years, and we never talked about it. I was very private,” she said.
“Nobody’s going to look at us. I think it’s important to have something for ourselves.”
Sweeney and Davino, 42, got engaged in 2022 but called it off three years later.
Brown, 44, was linked to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in August 2025 after they were spotted spending time together in Italy after their wedding.
After a series of public dates, the couple was last seen together in November, riding bikes together in California before jetting off to the Florida Keys.
The two have not been seen together since then, but a source told People in December that the two are “getting serious.”
