Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos have agreed to amicably negotiate a temporary custody arrangement after the NFL star dragged his ex-fiancée to court, Page Six reports.
Prescott, whose “ongoing extramarital affairs” forced Ramos to cancel their April 10 wedding in Lake Como, Italy, several weeks ago, filed a suit affecting parent-child relationship (SAPCR) on March 17 in Collin County, Texas, where they live.
In Texas, the SACR is often used by unmarried parents to define the rights and responsibilities of a parent in the best interests of the child or children.
This law provides for court orders regarding child custody, visitation (including possession and visitation), assistance, and medical/dental assistance.
Prescott, 32, argued in the petition that it was “in the best interests of the children” for him and Ramos to be “appointed joint managing guardians” of their two-year-old daughter, Margaret, and their 10-month-old daughter, Aurora.
A public hearing to discuss the issue was scheduled for Thursday. However, the former couple reportedly agreed to resolve the matter outside of court. If that is not possible, the council plans to reconvene for a public hearing on April 16 to come up with interim measures.
Raymond LaFour, Ramos’ Miami-based family law attorney, told Page Six: “Both parties are cooperating. My client is very satisfied with the way this matter is progressing.”
Meanwhile, Prescott’s attorney, Levi G. McAshern II, said, “Although the case is not resolved, the parties have agreed to postpone the first trial in order to resolve all of the various issues without court intervention.”
“Dak is a truly wonderful father and I look forward to working with Sarah Jane to build a healthy parent-child relationship and do what is in the best interests of their children.”
As Page Six previously reported, Ramos, also 32, called off a destination wedding last month shortly after a bachelorette and bachelorette party after learning the Dallas Cowboys quarterback was suspected of using secret social media profiles to send inappropriate messages to multiple women and ex-girlfriends.
A source previously said they believed Ramos had a history of communicating with other women while dating Prescott, but that they stayed together because they wanted Prescott to clean up his act for the sake of his family.
The accredited wine and spirits specialist is heard to have essentially given Prescott an ultimatum in January.
Our source added that Ramos is completely “done” with the romantic side of his relationship with Prescott and wants to focus on co-parenting their girls.
Meanwhile, Prescott’s lawyer previously told Page Six that “the decision to cancel the wedding was a two-way street,” adding: “Unfortunately, when celebrities go through personal events, speculation tends to run wild and the truth is often sidelined. People should stop making up stories and respect their privacy.”
After news of their breakup broke, rumors began to circulate that Ramos had refused to sign a prenuptial agreement.
However, she quickly denied it in an Instagram comment, insisting, “This has nothing to do with premarital sex. I hope we can put that rumor to rest now.”
Prescott and Ramos began dating in May 2023, welcomed baby Margaret in February 2024, got engaged eight months later, and welcomed baby Aurora in May 2025.
