Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have called off their divorce trial over custody of their 5-year-old daughter Juno.
Earlier this week, Us Weekly reported that the day before the trial was scheduled to begin, Turner-Smith’s lawyers filed a document with the court requesting that Turner-Smith be removed from the court calendar.
According to the actress, 39, she and her ex-husband, 47, agreed to resolve their differences outside of court.
“(Turner-Smith and Jackson) are negotiating a custody judgment,” her lawyer wrote, according to the outlet.
“The parties will return to (the private judge they hired) to resolve the impasse in the proposed custody judgment.”
Jackson filed for a modification of the emergency protective order in June, alleging that Turner-Smith changed Juno’s school without permission.
The actor also expressed concern that his ex-wife is “trying to create a scenario where Juno travels with her instead of attending a traditional school.”
He asked the court to order Turner-Smith to keep Juno at her school until next school year.
He also asked the court to seek mutual consent on matters related to his daughter’s education.
In May, when her exes couldn’t agree on where Juno should go to school, Turner-Smith asked a judge to grant a court order giving her the final say.
The “Queen & Slim” star filed for divorce from the “Dawson’s Creek” star in October 2023 after nearly four years of marriage. She requested joint custody of Juno.
The following December, she accused him of not paying child support.
