Shirley MacLaine spices up her casual outfits with dazzling accessories.
The 91-year-old actress made quite the fashion statement in a large floppy hat and brown gradient sunglasses while enjoying a meal with her assistant at Christie’s Village Cafe on November 29 in Malibu, California.
McClain channeled a bit of Old Hollywood glamor with her accessories, but kept the rest of her ensemble casual with a simple blue zip-up hoodie, matching T-shirt, and lightweight sweatpants.
Two days earlier, the Terms of Endearment star was seen wearing a similar outfit complete with a wide-brimmed sun hat while drinking a bright orange cocktail and chatting with friends at the same restaurant.
While discussing her memoir and photo album, The Wall of Life: Pictures and Stories from This Marvelous Lifetime, with PEOPLE in October 2024, MacLaine reflected on the “fascinating life” she has enjoyed over the past 70 years in the industry.
“I always knew I would live a long life, so I was looking forward to it,” she recalled, recalling the photos she chose to represent her life story. “Anyway, I’m an optimist. I’m actually looking forward to the next day. Well, now I’m wondering how much longer.”

McClain went on to explain that although she does “think about how much time” she has left to live, she doesn’t spend a lot of time thinking about what’s going to happen next in her life.
When asked who she would like to be in another life, McClain, known for her belief in reincarnation, replied, “Oh, honey, I don’t know.” “That’s impossible. I have to spend some time in heaven first.”

What is the Academy Award winner’s secret to a long and healthy life? McClain, who started her career on Broadway before hitting it big in Hollywood, told PEOPLE on her 90th birthday that her passion for dancing certainly helps her stay young.
“I started training in dance when I was three years old and stopped when I was about 67,” she explained in April 2024. “It taught me discipline, it taught me to love music, it taught me to work with people, and it taught me to deal with pain.”
McClain said she always reminds herself to count her blessings, adding: “I have friends and I’m really healthy.”
Back in 2019, the Apartment actress revealed that her zest for life has always been a part of her endearing personality.
“I think I have a perfect life…I eat what I want to eat and sleep when I want to sleep,” McClain said in July, just before his 85th birthday. “Learn to integrate with nature. (In New Mexico) I have a lot of animals around me. That’s all I need to be happy.”
