Sherri Shepherd addressed the cancellation of her talk show “Sherri” on Monday’s show. “This is a tough morning for all of us here at Sherry. I’m sure you’ve all been watching the news, and I’m ready to talk about it,” Shepherd told the audience. “Our show has not been renewed for another season. I just want to say to everyone, please don’t pass out or collapse because health care is expensive and no one has it anymore.”
“But now that I think about it, I have to say I’m truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love I’ve received from everyone,” she continued. They still talk to me, from the audience to everyone on social media to the people who stopped me in the store and talked to me even though I wasn’t wearing a wig. I feel the love you send me in every part of me, from your emails, texts, and messages. And thank you very much. ”
Shepard went on to say thank you: “Thank you for laughing and crying with us. Thank you for supporting my unhealthy obsession with Lenny Kravitz. When I first started, the show was built around one thing, and I knew that It was a joy to build on. The intention of this show was my prayer that you would leave happier than when you came. It was my dream to do a talk show, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to do it for four seasons.”
The host reminded viewers that “Shelly” will continue with original episodes through the fall and hinted that he is trying to find a new outlet for the show beyond syndication.
“I’m not ready to be on this show yet,” she said. “We intend to air episodes throughout the fall and continue to fight to keep the show alive in some way.
“If you know me, you know I’m a fighter. I am a fighter. I don’t know exactly what that will look like right now, but I promise to keep spreading joy.”
“My supervisor and producer, Norman Baker, said he was planning on streaking on the last day. He wanted security to keep an eye on Norman Baker because he didn’t want to see all of that.” – says they are taking empty suitcases to steal things from the dressing room…I have no problem handing over Kim Whitley to the authorities. So I would like to say to all of our guests, please don’t come here committing a misdemeanor. ”
Distributor Debmar-Mercury announced last week that Shelley would end its run later this year after four seasons. The news comes as another daytime hitter, The Kelly Clarkson Show, also announced it would end at the end of 2026 after seven seasons.
“Shelly” was most recently aired through the 2025-2026 television season on a group of broadcasters including Fox Television, Nexstar, Hearst, Sinclair, Gray, Tegna and Sunbeam. The final episode of this series is scheduled to air in the fall.
