Shaq hacking attack?
Shaquille O’Neal’s $180,000 Range Rover, which was customized to fit the 7-foot-1-inch hoops hero in the driver’s seat, has gone missing, Page Six has learned.
And insiders believe it may have been stolen when a motor carrier was hacked.
Now, the company that customized the car is offering a reward for information that leads to its resurrection.
The brand new car, which was in the midst of customization by Effortless Motors, which was expected to increase the car’s value to approximately $300,000, was transported by Effortless from Atlanta to Louisiana.
It was picked up on Monday but never reached its destination. When Effortless called to find out what happened to the missing motor, they discovered it had failed while on route.
It is believed the thieves may have hacked into the moving company to access data about the transfer and used that to get the Shack’s wheels into the wrong hands somewhere along the route.
Effortless is currently offering a $10,000 reward, the company said.
Apparently, this is becoming more and more of a problem. For example, local news in Miami reported in May that a $300,000 Rolls Royce went missing after being transported by its owner from South Florida to Detroit. In this case, police believed the suspect had changed the delivery address and picked up the car himself.
The popular NBA analyst is reportedly currently working with police to recover his jet black custom car.
Shaq is a serious car enthusiast, with a collection reportedly worth up to $4 million, which is said to include a Ferrari 355 F1 Spider, Bentley Azul, Lamborghini Gallardo, and a 2018 Beydor. Many of the cars are customized to suit him.
The icon said he owns 40 cars, adding: “I don’t know why.”
I think I’ll make it 39.
I have not heard from the police yet.
