Let’s go, girl.
Shania Twain celebrated her 60th birthday on Thursday. Her iconic music video look “Male! I feel like a woman!” in a nostalgic Instagram post.
The Grammy Award winner kept her look simple and posed in refreshing white button-ups and black underwear for the photo.
“No restraint, no conditions/no line up a bit,” says the lyrics in the background of her photo, as featured in her 1997 hit.
She also shares photos of her throwbacks in the 80s, wearing a sparkling blue suit and smiling at the camera, which appears to be preparing for a performance.
She also sported the classics that bullied her 1980s hairstyle.
“Happy birthday! How can I turn 60? I’m happy you’ve taken photos since this time of the 80s.
“I can’t explain how grateful I am for the life I have. For the inspiration I get from my family, friends, fans and everyone.”
Twain was closed: “I tried to stay true to myself along the way, and that’s what I’m going to move on to the next chapter.”
A few months before celebrating a major milestone, Twain reflected on her popular track, opening up her journey to self-acceptance and overcoming her struggle for physical self-confidence.
“When I got behind the camera and started looking at clothes and fashion, I said, ‘Wow, I’m actually a woman, I think I might like it,” she told Weekly in March.
“When I wrote, ‘Men, I feel like a woman!”, it was an absolute celebration (that) celebration,” Twain continued. “And I felt empowered behind the camera. They said, ‘They can’t grab me. I’m safe.’ ”
“Of course I don’t have the body I imagined. Because my image of a perfect body is a supermodel with cellulite, perfect proportions and beautiful strides. This is not me.
The comments reflected her 2022 sentiment when she told People magazine that she was showing off her “new body” in her late 50s.
“This is what I express my truth. I feel comfortable with my skin. This is how I share that confidence.”
