Bill Camp and Bruce Greenwood are set to star in “Hyde,” the new thriller from “Rumble Through the Dark” filmmakers Graham and Parker Phillips.
The script centers on Detective Grimes (Camp) who “descends to the corrupt heart of a declining metropolis” to track down a serial killer. Greenwood plays the therapist Grimes is assigned to see, helping Grimes discover that the monster he’s chasing may be much closer than he imagined. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in May in Bucharest, Romania.
Camp most recently co-starred with Josh O’Connor in Kelly Reichert’s The Mastermind, starred in Netflix’s dark comedy limited series Sirens, and played J.P. Morgan in Season 3 of HBO’s The Gilded Age. Camp will next be seen co-starring Glen Powell, Ed Harris and Margaret Qualley in the revenge thriller How to Make a Killing. Camp recently co-starred with Will Ferrell and Zac Efron in the comedy Judgment Day, and also wrapped production on an as-yet-untitled series for Apple TV and A+E Studios based on Lars Kepler’s best-selling crime novel, co-starring Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham. He has been nominated for Tony and Emmy Awards, and his work includes “The Looming Tower,” “The Night Of” and “Presumed Innocent.”
Greenwood’s film work includes “The Sweet Hereafter,” “Thirteen Days,” “The Post,” “I, Robot,” and “Flight.” On television, Greenwood has given memorable performances in “Mad Men,” “American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson,” and “The Fall of the House of Usher.” He is set to star in the upcoming Netflix series ‘Trinity’.
The Phillips brothers said, “We couldn’t be more inspired to have Bill and Bruce on board. They are world-class actors and true collaborators who immediately understood what we wanted this film to be. From the moment they joined the project, they elevated the material. They challenged us, pushed the work forward, and reaffirmed that film is a fun, collaborative medium, and that’s the fact that when you work with brothers, it can get blurry at times.”
The feature film will be produced by Graham Phillips and Parker Phillips of Phillips Pictures, Jason Tamasco and Zach Kristofek of Traction, and Cassian Elwes. Keith Danko will serve as executive producer.
Speaking on behalf of Traction, Tamasko and Christofek said: “We fell in love with this script right away. It’s haunting, detailed and very unsettling in a good way. Graham and Parker have a very clear and fearless vision for this material, and we’re excited to see it take shape. It’s incredibly exciting to watch. Bringing Bill Camp and Bruce Greenwood into this world is something we’re particularly excited about. They’re two extraordinary actors, and we’re so excited to see them collide on screen.” To be something special. ”
