Selena Gomez’s mom, Mandy Teefay, is said to have been disappointed by the decision the singer and actress made for her wedding to Benny Blanco.
“Serena’s mother and her stepfather Brian were shattered and they didn’t walk down the aisle by choosing their mother,” the insider told Disney Channel’s alum fiancé on Saturday. “In a shocking move, she chose her grandfather, David (Cornett) and handed her over to Benny.”
The insider added, “David and his wife Debbie were broken with tears of joy when they asked him. Serena made the decision as soon as they began planning their wedding.”
Teefey and Gomez representatives did not immediately return a page 6 request for comments on Snub’s allegations.
Gomez, 33, is reportedly going to exchange pledges with 37-year-old music producer Slanco in a star-studded celebration attended by Taylor Swift today at a private estate in Santa Barbara, California.
Family and friends held a rehearsal dinner Friday evening at Hour Ranch Real Estate in Goleta Valley, California.
Gomez and Blanco’s closely guarded fiancé reportedly include weekend celebrations. Meanwhile, guests say, with the exception of Swift, Page 6 will be staying in private rental homes for security purposes.
“All guests are picked up beforehand without knowing their destination and relegated to that location,” an insider told the Sun earlier this month.
“Despite the mystery, everyone is very excited. They know it’s going to be a great time.”
Gomez’s BFF Swift launched the highly anticipated weekend by arriving under the cover of a cluster of black umbrellas at Santa Barbara Airport on Friday afternoon.
Teefey, 49, is known for her sacrifices in encouraging Gomez’s career as an actress and singer. At the age of 16, she gave birth to a rare beauty founder and raised her as a single mother.
Despite the Snub’s suspicions, Gomez and Blanco acknowledged in a joint interview earlier this year that Tiffy played a major role in her romance with her husband.
“It’s really hard to understand. I was around 16, 17,” Hitmaker told an interview magazine about the age she first met swing in February.
Blanco said, “And we first came out in 2013 or something. Her mom set up a meeting between us both. This is when I grew up and she wasn’t a singer yet.”
After Slanco attended the 2023 hitmaker’s 31st birthday party, the two remained “parties” before their relationship changed into something more.
Gomez took her to Instagram in December 2024 to announce her imminent marriage to the musician. “It’s going to start forever,” she captioned the carousel in the photo showing off the giant marqueeze cut diamond sparkler.
