What you need to know
Sandra Vergara is aiming to set a record straight after her Selling Sunset co-star Chrishell Stause claimed she took control of her assistant’s car keys.
In Season 9, which premiered Wednesday, Oct. 29, on Netflix, Stause, 44, has a serious conversation with a new agent at the Oppenheim Group after Vergara asks if he has a problem with her. As a result of the discussion, Stause ends up confronting Vergara about an incident involving Vergara’s assistant and a new member of Selling Sunset. The two used to live in the same building.
During the episode, Vergara, 37, completely denied the allegations and even burst into tears over the fact that Stause would accuse her of doing such a thing. Now, she tells us what really happened in a recent interview with Us Weekly.
“I have never keyed anyone’s car. Let’s set the record straight,” she told the outlet. “I don’t like badmouthing people because it goes against my preferences in spiritual practice. I don’t like badmouthing people.”

Nevertheless, Ms. Vergara decided to share her perspective on what happened and clarify the accusations against her.
“I don’t want to get into trouble either. But her assistant used to be my neighbor, and that neighbor was a very problematic person,” she claimed. “She’s a very difficult person and someone keyed her car and she just blamed me. Actually, I know who it was, but I have nothing to do with it.”
The reality star added that she came into the show with an “open heart” and became emotional during the scene and ended up crying in front of Stause because he resurfaced issues that “had nothing to do with me.”
During a dramatic showdown in episode 10, which takes place at one of Stause’s properties in Malibu, tensions mount after Vergara asks Stause, “Did I ever rub you the wrong way?” And she added that she felt “a sense of resistance.”
“I know what you’re saying emotionally, but I feel like I was being nice to you,” Stause replies. “So I think you’re reading too much into things. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. Just focus on your job. Friendships happen when they’re meant to happen.”
In her defense, Vergara says, “I’m not saying I want to be friends. I’m just saying that I feel something about her that I didn’t feel for the other girls.”

Stause, who seemed a little irritated, stated bluntly, “If you’re going to start this conversation, we’re going to do it,” before grabbing his wallet and showing Vergara a photo of someone on his phone.
Then she asks, “Did you guys live in the same building before?”
When Vergara claimed to not know the person, Stause explained, “So I said, ‘Who is this new woman in the office? And I said, ‘Oh, I think she’s related to Sofia Vergara.'” Then the assistant said, “Wait, her name is Sandra?” At that time she said: “Oh my god, we lived in the same building,” and she said you keyed her car. ”

Shocked, Vergara tells Stause, “I’ve never opened the keys to anyone’s car, not even my ex-boyfriend.”
Their conversation continued, with Stause stating that she “never would have brought that up” until Vergara tried to “paint” it to her as unfriendly. When Vergara gets emotional and says she doesn’t want any drama, Stause gives her some advice.
“I’ve been in this office a long time, so to be honest, I know I have to pull myself together a little bit, because at the end of the day, nothing matters except my success and what I do there,” she says.

During her introduction in episode 6, Vergara shared a little more about herself and admitted that she is related to actress Sofia Vergara.
“Yes, I’m related to Sofia Vergara. She’s biologically my cousin, but her mother adopted me, so we grew up as sisters,” she says of the Modern Family star. “I’m originally from Colombia, but I’ve lived there for more than half of my life. I’m completely new to real estate. I’ve been an artist all my life, but then I became a journalist.”
