Selena Gomez spoke on The Jennifer Hudson Show about why she waited to share photos of her Ralph Lauren ceremony dress. The star had four different wedding looks from the fashion house. She first posted a photo of the high-necked dress she wore on her actual wedding day.
Shortly after exchanging vows with Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez shared the first photo from her wedding with a music producer. However, the high-neck Ralph Lauren dress she wore in the photo was not the one she wore at the ceremony.
During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer explained why she waited to reveal her ceremony dress and how her fame influenced her decision to have multiple dresses.
“I tried to do this sneaky thing and, as you can relate, I didn’t want anyone taking pictures of my wedding except for mine,” she began, adding, “I try to keep my life as private as possible, so that dress was originally for the[first]look, and then this[lace ceremony]dress was by Ralph Lauren, and like everyone else, it was my favorite dress.” (Blanco shared the first look of her lace dress the day after the wedding, and the couple was able to gradually reveal the rest of her look.)
Gomez thanked Hudson for complimenting her dress and said the whole day was “like a dream.”
Gomez has now posted photos of all four Ralph Lauren looks from her wedding day: a high-neck dress, a lace ceremony dress, a short reception dress, and finally a blazer mini dress with floral embellishments.
Last week, Gomez spoke at Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington, D.C., about why she felt scared after marrying Blanco, even though it was one of the happiest days of her life.
“This is how I personally work, but when something great happens in life, I expect something bad to happen,” she admitted. “So instead of sitting there and saying, “Okay, we did something amazing,” which I do, I’m always thinking, “Okay, but tomorrow it could all be gone, so how can I make sure that doesn’t happen?” When I do that, I just get absorbed in it instead of enjoying it. Sometimes when something great happens, I think that’s my biggest struggle. When I got married, I was sobbing because I thought, “I might die the next day.” I think it’s just the little things in life. ”
