Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco will celebrate five months of marriage on Friday, and the singer took to Instagram this morning to pay tribute to her husband. She posted a video of the two kissing on her Instagram Story, writing, “I love you more and more every day, my love.”
Gomez spoke to Jake Shane on the Serapas podcast in August about the confidence she felt before marrying Blanco.
Blanco also knew right away that Gomez was the one for him. As he told an interviewer in the couple’s cover story last February, after realizing she was romantically interested in him, “It was easy. You know, when you think you’ve met the right person, you’re like, ‘Oh my god.'” But it feels so different. The moment we started dating, I thought, “This is my wife.” I said to my mother, “This is the woman I am going to marry.” ”
In the same interview, Gomez shared the dating advice she would give others and touched on the type of partner she wanted and found on Blanco. “I don’t think I understand life at all,” she prefaced. “Simplistically, my perspective is that I feel valued. I feel seen. I feel respected. And I think that’s all I really wanted. I feel like I was all alone in the world. I was alone for five years before we started dating. But I think it helped me appreciate someone like Ben. He feels so weird when I say this, but in a real sense, 10 years ago, I wasn’t in a space in my life where I could accept that kind of patience, and that’s the unconditional love that he gives me. ”
